Master's Certificate in Agile Practices

  • GWCAP (certified in Agile Practices) - GWCAP certification, created by Strategy Execution and The George Washington University, School of Business, is a recognised credential in Agile management. A GWCAP practitioner has relevant Agile knowledge through the successful completion of at least seven Strategy Execution courses that lead to a Master’s Certificate in Agile Practices.

Master’s Certificate in Project Management

  • GWCPM (certified project manager) - GWCPM certification, created by Strategy Execution and The George Washington University, School of Business, is a recognised credential in project management. A GWCPM practitioner has relevant core project management knowledge through the successful completion of at least seven Strategy Execution courses that lead to a Master’s Certificate in Project Management.

Master’s Certificate in Business Analysis

  • GWCBA (certified business analyst) - GWCBA certification, created by Strategy Execution in association with The George Washington University School of Business, is a recognised credential in business analysis. A GWCBA practitioner has relevant business analysis knowledge through the successful completion of at least seven Strategy Execution courses that lead to a Master’s Certificate in Business Analysis.

Master’s Certificate in Programme Management

  • GWCPgM (certified programme manager) - GWCPgM certification, created by Strategy Execution in association with The George Washington University, School of Business, is a recognised credential in programme management. A GWCPgM practitioner has relevant core programme management knowledge through the successful completion of at least seven Strategy Execution courses that lead to a Master’s Certificate in Programme Management plus additional criteria that includes further training, certifications or specific hours of experience in fields of project and/or programme management.

I earned a Master’s Certificate, is there any type of credential that I can add to my signature line or resume?

My employer requires proof that I can use the credential and what it stands for, is there any chance that I can get this in writing?

I saw the information on the GW credential. Will I receive written notification of my eligibility to use it?

As students earn their Master’s Certificates they will receive a letter along with the Master’s Certificate explaining their eligibility to use the GW credential. This will also suffice as an explanation when employers or future employers ask what the credential stands for and what the individual earned it.

Does this mean I am now a Certified Project Manager/Programme Manager/Business Analyst?

Yes, you are certified based upon meeting the criteria specified for that particular credential through The George Washington University.

Can this certificate be compared to the PMP®?

No, this cannot be compared to the PMP® because it is in recognition of academic achievement.

Do I have to maintain my certification like other professional bodies?

No, there is no requirement to re-certify.

Is there an expiration date on the credential?

No, there is no expiration date. Once you earn it you can use it from that point forward.

Do I have to take only the core classes in order to get this certification?

You must meet the criteria for the specific Master’s Certificate you are working toward and meet any additional requirements listed.

If I have taken courses in the past, can those count toward a Master’s certificate?

Yes, if the courses you have taken are within the required Master’s Certificate path and they have been taken within the designated time frame of four years. Once you have met the criteria and successfully completed the courses you will earn the Master’s Certificate and are eligible to use the credential. Can I use this on my business card like the PMP® certification?

Yes, it can be added to your signature line or business card.

Do I get a pin like the one I get for the CBAP®?

No, there is no pin or any other designation with this credential.

Is this credential industry recognised? And does this mean I am certified by industry standards?

No, this is not industry recognised.  Rather, it is in recognition of academic achievement.

How is this credential verifiable?

Will GWU have a record of all those students with the credentials?

No, because Strategy Execution is tracking that data. 

Is there a credential available for the professional Certificate in Business Skills?

No, the credentials are only available with the Master’s Certificate Programmes.
